Film is the mirror through which humanity dares to look at itself-fragile, flawed and forever reaching for light.
Matthew Krul is a prolific television and media producer, director, and creative executive, and a proud member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA). Over the course of his career, he has produced more than 400 hours of network television across major broadcast and cable networks, in addition to documentaries, short-form content, and feature films. His work spans more than 10 countries, bringing a distinctly international and culturally informed perspective to everything he makes. In 2017, Krul partnered with Protozoa Pictures, LBI Productions, and Studio 8 to executive produce White Boy Rick, starring Matthew McConaughey, alongside Oscar winner John Lesher and acclaimed writer-director Darren Aronofsky. The film tells the true story of Rick Wershe Jr.'s rise in Detroit's drug trade and his subsequent fall through the American justice system. Krul also made his writing and feature-directing debut with Warm Heart of Africa, a documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman and filmed in Malawi, further solidifying his commitment to globally conscious filmmaking. From 2003 to 2008, Krul worked with Mandalay Entertainment under President David Salzberg and CEO Peter Guber. During this period, he helped develop feature films including The Perfect Game and served within Mandalay Sports Action Entertainment, where he worked directly with Fortune 500 companies on marketing, branding, and sports-driven media initiatives. Krul currently owns and operates multiple production and production-services companies in the United States and the Canary Islands, Spain, supporting both domestic and international productions. Having previously worked closely with the Ohio Film Commission on film and television tax incentives, and with partners in Spain on international production incentives, he is now based south of Fifth in Miami Beach, where he is intentionally making Miami his home and creative hub. He is currently focused on Florida and Miami-based tax incentives, helping position the city as a premier destination for film, television, and emerging media production. As a new author of his new book titled "The Things You Already Know", which explores the role of creativity, storytelling, and artistic expression as tools for emotional recovery, self-discovery, and transformation. Two follow-up volumes are set to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. On the foundation of that work, Krul launched a wellness company in 2026, expanding his creative practice into the health and wellness space. He consults with individuals and organizations on spiritual grounding, nervous system regulation, creative alignment, and overall well-being, drawing from lived experience and holistic frameworks that bridge art, purpose, and healing. Krul remains actively engaged in creative marketing and content development for the Miami Beach Police Department, working in collaboration with the Police Athletic League (PAL) to support youth, wellness, and community-focused initiatives. He also produces film and media projects for H.E.L.P., a nonprofit organization operating in Malawi, Africa. Mr Krul continues to develop a diverse slate of international projects across feature films, animation, documentaries, reality formats, and true-story narratives, while building a parallel body of work centered on healing, purpose, and human connection through art.
