Matthew Krul is a writer, producer, director, recording artist, and creative entrepreneur whose career spans feature films, television, documentaries, books, music, and international production. A member of the Producers Guild of America, he has produced more than 400 hours of network television and worked across more than 10 countries, bringing a global perspective to stories rooted in ambition, identity, and human experience. Krul served as executive producer of White Boy Rick, starring Matthew McConaughey, working alongside Academy Award-winning producer John Lesher and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, with Protozoa Pictures, LBI Productions, and Studio 8. His television credits include The Real Housewives of New York City and directing Million Dollar Matchmaker. He made his writing and feature-directing debut with Warm Heart of Africa, a documentary filmed in Malawi and narrated by Morgan Freeman. Earlier in his career, Krul worked with Mandalay Entertainment under David Salzberg and Peter Guber, contributing to feature development, including The Perfect Game. Through Mandalay Sports Action Entertainment, he also worked with Fortune 500 companies on branding, marketing, and sports-driven media. These experiences established a foundation in both storytelling and the business of bringing ambitious projects to audiences. Today, Krul is bringing that experience into Spiritual Gangster Entertainment, his umbrella for Spiritual Gangster Films, Spiritual Gangster Television, Spiritual Gangster International Projects, Spiritual Gangster Music, and Spiritual Gangster Wellness. He owns and operates production and production-services companies in the United States and the Canary Islands, Spain, connecting his expanding creative slate with international production capabilities. Through Spiritual Gangster Films, Krul is developing features and documentaries including The Dinner, a portrait of philosopher Alan Watts, and The Silent King: In the Shadows, a biographical feature about pioneering screen star Sessue Hayakawa. Spiritual Gangster Television encompasses scripted and unscripted development, including the Rikers Island limited series Across the Bridge and Basquiat — La Belle Folie, an ensemble drama exploring the artist and the downtown New York world that shaped him. Spiritual Gangster International Projects extends that work through cross-border collaborations, including a partnership with B-Water Studios. With a focus on the Canary Islands, this collaboration connects live-action and animation projects with development support, production services, and incentive planning, helping producers move from creative vision to execution. Krul is also the author of The Identity Trilogy: The Things You Already Know, The Things That Have Known Us, and The People Who Have Known Life. The first two volumes are released October 17, 2026, with the third in development. The books explore the beliefs, places, possessions, and relationships that shape identity — and what happens when the lives we have built begin to change. Released alongside the books is IDENTITY, his debut album under Spiritual Gangster Music. Seven tracks sung in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, the album carries the trilogy’s questions of self-discovery, love, and reinvention into song — a companion piece to the written work, available October 17, 2026 on all major streaming platforms. That exploration continues through Spiritual Gangster Wellness, launched in 2026, where Krul consults on spiritual grounding, creative alignment, and overall well-being, and is developing ventures and experiences centered on creative expression and human connection. These include the South of Fifth Wellness Club in Miami Beach and international wellness initiatives in development in Latin America, particularly Costa Rica. Based in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood, Krul is building his next chapter around a creative home with an international reach. His community work includes collaboration with the Miami Beach Police Department and Police Athletic League on youth and community initiatives, alongside media projects supporting nonprofit organizations worldwide.
